Panel skirt tutorial

August 18, 2010

So I had someone ask me if I'd used a pattern for the skirt I made, I didn't but I decided to make a mini tutorial explaining the process I went through to create it. This tutorial doesn't go into too much detail and it assumes that you already have basic sewing knowledge, for example sewing in a zip or sewing a hem. If you need help with things like that there are heaps of videos on youtube, and on threadbanger to help.

Let me know what you think, I'll try to document the process of my next project just in case you guys enjoy this. I'd love to hear your feedback! Cheers!

  1. It turns out fabric.com also has a pattern for an 8 panel skirt that's printable, for people who don't want to draft a pattern.

  2. Your skirt is darling and I like how you composed the image of the tutorial. However, it's not user friendly and perhaps you could type up a tutorial and add the photos so we might be able to use the tutorial. I know I'd really like to. Thanks for your inspiration!

  3. Sorry D+R, this was just quick for someone who was wondering what sort of pattern I'd used. LadyJane posted to a tutorial that is already very detailed, and it seems redundant for me to write a tutorial for something that has been covered many times before. But if you wish, I'll make a more detailed version, though I can't promise it'll be any more user-friendly, I'm not trained in sewing jargon :)

Hello, thanks for taking the time to write a comment. I don't always reply (because I'm too busy hiding under a rock) but I read and appreciate every single one!
