Wash off the chalk from your weathered skinMay 25, 2012
Hello new followers! Thanks for coming to hang out in my quiet corner of the internet, nice to meet you. In light of new visitors I shall endeavour to have another giveaway (clothes this time), maybe once I reach the 300 mark (that gives me time to find some adorable vintage in my wardrobe that I hardly wear).
After weeks of planning sunny weather outfits without tights or jackets, the sun has come back, but with a vengeance. Instead of looking well put together in meticulously planned outfits, the weather has left me panting like a small dog in only shorts and a tank top. While before I avoided taking photos because I was dubious that they would be any good, now my bones ache at the thought of even walking to the nearest park. (To be fair, the weather can't be blamed in full for this, on the other hand, labs, my full time nemesis, can.)
Maybe it's the heat, or maybe it's the impending doom of end-of-year exams but I've been feeling rather silly, so onto the roof it was. Armed with a box of chalk in a spectrum of fun colours and a green blanket of pretend grass, I drew myself a garden and a game of hopscotch. In retrospect the hopscotch was all wrong, but I made it work.
This playsuit is just so sweet it verges on being sickly so. Luckily the print is a rather grown-up floral (is that even a thing? Unless by grown-up I mean the curtains of an elderly relative). It's originally from topshop and the elastic in the back was broken so I got it for cheaps during the Traid sale, some time in February. Traid also do an awesome remade range which uses recycled textiles to create new pieces, and it has an online store! I should also mention the necklace, because it's awesome. Who wouldn't want to wear a slightly threatening deer? It's my way of saying, "yeah, I'm a real bad-ass, you better watch your back!" Except you can't really take anyone wearing full floral and cute woodland animals very seriously. To illustrate this fact I've included a photo of my looking rather silly at the bottom there.
Plus, for funsies, here's a photo of my newest silly sunglasses.
