Meet me in the garden of Eden

September 28, 2012

I think this is probably the most picture heavy post yet on the blog. This may be a bit overboard, but hey, sometimes you have a few too many nice photos and don't have the energy to edit the selection down. Consider it a photo story, a story of walking from one part of Holland park to another. I didn't even cover a significant distance, just two sides of a single garden. Though I did find a rather secluded flower patch that I may return to on my own for outfit photos from here after. For a while I've felt that roof photos are rather limiting and I do prefer a backdrop of greenery. Feel free to ignore me if this is starting to sound like one of those I-promise-to-blog-more-often phases I go through every once in a while.

University begins in a few days, it's my third year (eek!) It's not super official yet but over the summer I applied and was chosen for a special job at one of my university's publications. It promises to be great fun and I'll share the results here (if it's any good). The year promises to be quite intense (in a soul-devouring manner) so I'd like to keep my sanity; photography and writing are somewhat therapeutic (again, another promised to blog more often).

Back to the photos then, I tried smiling! I've been told I look too angry, not enough smiley. Trying to stay clear of the axe murderer look I tend to get when it's the end of the day, it's cold and, my camera isn't cooperating. My mother says she doesn't like the look of grumpy runway models while I hate catalogues full of people with massive fake grins glued to their faces. So I put it to you; smiles or no smiles?

  6. Just when I thought I couldn't get any more jealous of the park, you pulled out photos of a giant chess board! As for smiles vs scowls... they both have their place. I agree that smiles are often too fake, though.

  13. I'll tell you something, I hate it when people say I look unhappy or depressed or unsmiling in photos. I want to shake them. I never notice things like that. And it's kind of stupid to stand there and smile by yourself, isn't it? I think they should mind their own business, personally. Look however you want!

Hello, thanks for taking the time to write a comment. I don't always reply (because I'm too busy hiding under a rock) but I read and appreciate every single one!
