Ignore my messy hair and instead regard my shiny new magazine (shiny-ha, it's funny because it's matte). It's my university's science magazine (which may sound odd because my university is a science university) and this is the first issue of the year. The reason that it's special to me is that I'm the production manager (ooh, fancy title right?) I ended up not doing much work for most of the making of the magazine, but did some very intensive design work right at the end. I've attached a few photos of some of the pages I worked on as well as a link to the issuu version so you can read the whole thing! It's full of wonderful science-y goodness, intended for all readers, not just scientists. I grabbed a few extra magazines, so if the online version isn't enough for you, send me an email and I might be able to send you a copy (in return for the price of postage).

Speaking of science matters, I was interviewed by the lovely Tempest (who attends the same university as I do) for her feature on woman scientists who are also bloggers. It's really awesome (and not just because I'm part of it) so you should go check that out once you've finished reading my magazine. You can read the interview here.

Also, please try to ignore the fact that my face is in these photos, today was not a good photo day. Today was one of those days when the outfit seemed decent enough inside the house but the moment I got outside I felt like I stuck out like a sore thumb. Luckily I only had to go to the supermarket before I ran back inside to change back into pyjamas. Also you may notice the fancy backdrop for my photos of the magazine, my new Orla Kiely pillow cases that I found at T.K. Maxx for a discounted price. Thank you T.K. Maxx!

  2. I hate the days when I go out and end up feeling like that about my outfit. The color of your skirt looks beautiful, though. Especially against the green backdrop.

  8. What a beautifully designed magazine - my friend who is an immunobiology major always says the scientists have no design abilities - but this is awesome! I love your outfit too - how amazing is that coat? But seriously, that magazine...I"m wildly impressed.

Hello, thanks for taking the time to write a comment. I don't always reply (because I'm too busy hiding under a rock) but I read and appreciate every single one!
