Sunny days and pleated skirts

February 24, 2013

Last weekend the sun was shining and London felt like a brighter, happier place. On Saturday I went to the Tate Modern and had a look around Borough Market. Both places were packed with people, a reminder that not everyone wastes away their winter weekends in the confines of their homes, wrapped in thick knits, drinking tea. Then Sunday, the sun rose yet again and this time I ventured to the local farmer's market, made up like some sort of parading bird with a fantastic array of feathers upon its head. But groceries were bought and on the way back I stopped in Nomad Books for a hot chocolate at their cafe. I recommend it highly but I'll post more about it later.

I like the outfit, the simple colours are nice and I like a touch of lace to add detail. I'm not so sure about the beehive and make up though, it feels like a bit much. Sorry for the lack of posts recently, I've been shy about taking photos and unhappy with the photos I've taken. Hopefully when Spring comes I'll feel more inspired to post more often. On a positive note, I get my favourite lens back soon!

  5. I think the hair and dress go really well together - I love the mod 60s vibe! It's also just struck me that you look a little like Milla Jovovich! I never mind gaps in your blogging either when it's definitely a case of quality over quantity :)

    1. No, I didn't! I walked past but it wasn't open (just a few days early I'm afraid) but I've been hearing about it for some time and I am curious, I love the pop art style!

  11. Oh I like the beehive! You look gorgeous! If there is anytime to take a bit of a fashion risk it's during the weekend, in my opinion. I went out with a massive beehive the other day. I definitely got a few looks, but I also got a few compliments and I felt like a total badass. Definitely not a look I would wear all the time, but it was fun for a day!

  13. I definitely agree! The simple colors with the touch of lace is absolute perfect during the cold seasons when weather outside makes you feel all "eghh" lol And I know what you mean about not posting and feeling disappointed with self portraits. February isn't my favorite month and I've been lacking in posting. But on another note, I find your makeup simple and classy; very easy!

Hello, thanks for taking the time to write a comment. I don't always reply (because I'm too busy hiding under a rock) but I read and appreciate every single one!
