Win £80 to spend at Asos to celebrate Earth Day!

April 22, 2013

Happy Earth Day everyone! I hope everyone got the chance to hug a tree, or frolic through a field of wild flowers. I opted for a classic; singing in the hills, because as we all know, they are full of music! Clichés aside, Earth Day is a good opportunity to reflect on our ways as consumers and judge our environmental impact on the world. Business speak aside it means I vow, yet again, to never buy anything from the high street again and to travel only by bicycle. However such goals can be impractical and simply improbable.

Instead I thought I'd give you the opportunity to indulge, guilt-free, in some of my favourite ethical and eco-friendly picks from Asos! Asos? Surely not, they are not a brand known for their ethical ways. Think again kind reader, for indeed it may be small and hard to find but Asos devote a small directory to ethical products for sale on their website, it's called the Green Room. There you will find many splendours, and because I love you all so much I'm offering an £80 gift voucher to one lucky person to spend at Asos (true, you could spend it on anything, not just the Green Room but it is Earth Day after all). This wouldn't be possible on my own, I am but a student, this is all thanks to Appliances Online who kindly offered me this voucher to give away. (They also have a blog that features no Appliances, rather adorable home décor inspiration and a bunch of cute DIY's, but don't go there, it's my secret source... shhh!)

How to enter:
Just leave a comment below, letting me know if you've done anything for Earth Day! (Also make sure I can contact you somehow.)
That's it! (Really, really). Anyone can enter but the voucher is in pounds and will need to be spent on the UK Asos website (they ship overseas, don't worry). No need to follow or tweet about it, just leave a comment. Or course, if you really wanted to you could follow me and tell your friends, but that's up to you :)
Giveaway ends on the 6th of May at Midday London time.
Good Luck!

And the winner is...
Congratulations Kailey, I will email you shortly :)
Thank you to everyone who entered!

Just because I'm an angel, I've made a selection of my favourite Green Room items ranging from the cheapest to items pushing the £80 budget. A taster for what you could win.

  2. What an awesome giveaway! I had a little picnic under the shade of a tree in my backyard - very Seurat of me, ha!
I'm also looking forward to switching off my lights for Earth Hour next Monday. Not exactly Earth Day but it's still for our beautiful planet. I remember I started doing it the first year they began the initiative and I've done it every year since.

  3. I didn't know it was Earth day. But I cycle or walk to Uni everyday, does that count? We also turned the heating timer off at the weekend, extra jumpers from here on out!

  4. I bought a reusable container from my local Starbucks today - my caffeine addiction already causes enough guilt without adding all the cardboard waste to it! Great giveaway...made all the more wonderful by not being accompanied by a million and one conditions :) I love all your Asos picks too by the way :)

  10. This is such a sweet Earth Day giveaway! Your blog is so beautiful and every visit makes me happy. <3 Today I walked to and from school and my family shut off the heat. Living in Seattle though, people are all about having a happy planet all the time- which is really nice!

  23. Earth day!!!! Regardless of earth day or not, I always find the time to frolic among trees and to lay down with a blanket atop grass along with a good book in hand. Everyone should try spending some time with nature at least once a week. Nature is the BEST!
Also, if I happen to win this giveaway, that would be amazing, although not as equally amazing as nature already is.

  28. For earth day, I walked and cycled instead of getting the tube to work. I also didn't have any lights on all evening and used candles instead. I didn't know that ASOS had an ethical section, thanks for bringing this to my attention! I love those tote bags! x

  39. I spent all Earth Day in the university library studying for my psychology exam (that's special, I guess?). Plus I recycle, have my own little garden and buy second hand clothes almost exclusively. I think Earth day is great for awareness, but I try and keep being conscious of mother nature up all year 'round. Yay, go Planet Earth!
    Thanks :)

On earth day I tried to save as much electricity as possible.
Being a mother of a one year old is a real challenge for my eco-friendly habits. I try to use water instead of baby wipes, walk with my little one instead of drive and once a week we go together to recycle all our paper and plastic (he loves it! :))

For Earth Day, we were more conscious of turning off lights we didn't need. Also, I'm one of the few people in my year who still walk to college as everyone else can now drive (although it does mean I'm quite late sometimes), and whenever a bunch of flowers have passed their best at home, instead of throwing away the whole bunch, I salvage the good flowers and put then in little glass jars on my windowsill so I have an ever-changing beautiful display of colourful flowers :)
